Synopsis :
“Free Wheel” is our brand-new 52-minute documentary about the incredible challenge taken up by Pierre, a Bataclan survivor turned paraplegic, his wife Myriam and their old friend Nicolas. They set themselves the goal of climbing Kilimanjaro in a wheelchair, pushing back the limits traditionally imposed on disabled people. While the starting point of the story is a personal drama, the message of this documentary is one of resilience. The beauty of the film lies in the way events unfold – one of the greatest challenges was not to turn anyone into a glorified hero. On the contrary, this documentary aims to depict a real human odyssey, with real human trials. As we approach the tenth anniversary of the Bataclan, this documentary reminds us not to forget the horror of what happened. Pierre and Myriam’s story should also serve as an inspiration: that of a life rediscovered despite the tragic events of November 13. “Free Wheel” combines pain, love, an unshakeable will to live, courage and solidarity.
